We are looking for an experienced Industrial Hygienist who will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive annual Industrial Hygiene (IH) plans for the operations
- Conduct thorough IH Area Surveys to identify and report on physical, chemical, and biological hazards across all
operational areas
- Perform qualitative IH surveys to classify work exposure and determine similarly exposed worker groups (SEGs)
through detailed task analysis, observation, and worker interviews
- Execute quantitative IH Exposure Assessments for SEGs by deploying calibrated sampling equipment and
applying validated analytical methods to measure airborne contaminants and physical agents. - Implement robust control measures, conduct regular audits, and maintain detailed records to protect personnel from radiation sources and ensure strict compliance with radiation permit requirements.
- Provide adequate training and education to the workforce on industrial hygiene programs.
Requirements:
- Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, or a related scientific or engineering
field. - Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is highly preferred.
- Progressive and relevant experience in Industrial Hygiene within the oil & gas, chemical, manufacturing, or similar
heavy industry for at least 7 years. - A working knowledge of Industrial Hygiene Management Systems, exposure assessment methodologies
(qualitative and quantitative), IH equipment operation and maintenance, radiation safety management, chemical
hazard communication, and occupational health regulations. - Familiarity with international standards such as ACGIH TLVs, World Bank, and relevant national/local IH guidelines
(e.g., Guyana OHS regulations) is desired - Fluent in English
